Normally I wouldn't think of lakes when my mind considers the country of Afghanistan... But the rainy season has arrived and along with it an over abundance of small lakes beside the roads, in the parking lots and along the walking paths. Everything is muddy. The sky is dreary. The air is chilly. And there's even a dusting of snow on the top of the montain to the north. None of the things that came ot mind when I play word assosciation with "Afghanistan".
I'm not sure if the rain is keeping everyone indoors, or what, but there has also been a fairly marked decrease in customer traffic the last two days as well, which has been nice. Not as many emergencies, more time to work on projects to bolster our processes. And even some extra time to relax and just chat with my airmen.
