Over the last couple of days I’ve been really challenged in my job as I comprehend more and more that my job impacts the lives of American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that are out there doing the real work to make America safe. I’ve also been challenged to think critically with and against my boss to ensure that we accomplish our job in the best way possible. It seems like leadership 101, but something I’ve not felt the need to do before. And by no means am I suggesting that my commander and I don’t see eye to eye, but he has a very unique perspective on how a communications should work. It’s not something that I’ve heard anyone else talk about. It’s been fun to be part of it. It’s been frustrating to be part of it. But ultimately I know in 6 months I’m going to be stronger for having been part of it.
